CSI’s need a degree in natural science, such as biology, chemistry or in forensic science. For example, they need DNA-analysis programs that take up to at least 6 months to a year to complete. Some specialist programs can take up to 3 years. It teaches how to learn correct collection procedures and how to document activities. You can take these programs at colleges of Universities such as:

Everest University- 4 programs
Briarcliffe College- 2 programs

Salary/Requirements
Some higher lever positions include:
Crime Scene Technicians- investigate physical evidence and collect data
Crime Scene Analyst-documents, sketches and use lab equipment in lab
Crime Scene Psychologists- study why people commit crimes
The average salary is $57,340 and up to 10% of 88,880 annually. A monthly
salary would be $4154.75. About a hourly rate of $24.00
Natural Abilities
Crime scene investigators have to develop natural abilities like analytic skills to survey the crime scene and to give stong key details. Another skill is communication. You have to discuss the evidence with police officers to piece together the statements gathered from the scene. Most importantly, poise is a key quality. You have to maintain under pressure with working with horrible crime scenes. Also, have a strong stomach to focus on evidence-gathering. Lastly, problem solving instincts by combining critical thinking to develop stories based upon the evidence found from the scene.
